32nd User Group Meeting

Kategorie: Uncategorized |

When: February 16th 2010

AGENDA

19:00 Doors opening

19:15 as3Signals - A New Event System - a showcase by Michael Heimann (indieas.org)

as3signals is a rather new project started by Robert Penner also known as the creator of the tweening classes. He presented an alternative approach to the default AS3 event system, inspired by C# events and signals/slots in Qt.

The talk will cover the basic usage of this interesting new event framework. But it also tries to point out pros and cons considering the usage in existing projects, the handling of native events or the performance.

This session will be in German or English depending on the audience.

19:45 Break (Code Battle Preparations)

20:00 Code Battle: “Script Action Challenge” - everyone!

For the first time we are going to have a Flash code battle at a SFUG meeting and we would like to invite all of you to participate, so make sure to bring your own notebooks!

But what is it going to be about?

The idea behind this is to find and discuss various solution approaches to a given problem aka the Script Action Challenge so we all can learn and improve our coding skills - and of course there is a prize waiting for the best/most effective/most innovative approach.

So, how will this thing be rolled out? Here are the rules:

1. A problem aka the Script Action Challenge will be presented to all participants at the beginning of the Code Battle.

2. The contestants have one hour to develop a solution approach for the given problem.

3. Any tool may be used.

4. Any library may be used.

Got it? So, pack in your notebooks, sharpen your wits and pick up the “Script Action Challenge” here at the 32nd user group meeting. Looking forward to having all of you!
